This is why you don’t mess with wild boars.
Ferocious and fairly common, wild boar are a major problem across Japan. Run into one of these beasts and, as one man in Fukuoka found out firsthand recently, you could end up in serious trouble.
The video below shows a while collar worker walking down a street in Fukuoka City’s Nishi Ward near JR Imajuku Station on October 26 at a little after 7 a.m. when all of a sudden a wild boar charges at him and hits him head on completely knocking the man off of his feet. Following the first charge the wild boar turns around and continues the assault, repeatedly headbutting the man. As the man is scrambling to get back on his feet witnesses in nearby cars can be heard blaring their horns in an effort to scar off the wild boar. These efforts prove to be successful and the boar runs away.
The man in the video above is reported to have been bitten in the left thigh by the boar and received 13 stitches to close the wound.
The person who shot the video began filming it when she noticed the wild boar wandering around the area. She says she shot the video to show police since there had been reports starting two or three days prior to the attack that a wild boar was in the area.
The wild boar was tracked down by a local hunting club and exterminated.
