Erina, I think you have a little something on your face.
Chii-tan☆ is an adorable 5 month old female Asian small-clawed otter that over the past couple of months has become a major Twitter celebrity in Japan and even to some extent internationally. Cute videos like the one below in which Chii-tan☆ almost appears to be trying to talk to her owner have managed to catapult this baby otter into prominence in almost no time at all. This video alone has gotten over 175,000 likes and 80,000 retweets.

Erina Kamiya on the other hand, is also very famous online but for very different reasons. She is a member of the idol group Kamen Joshi (Masked Girls) and is quite well-known for her work as a gravure idol (swimsuit/lingerie model). Here is a rather sexy preview of Kamiya’s 5th DVD, which was released on August 25 (FYI the video gets a tad bit NSFW).
So, what’s the connection between these two “ladies?” It appears that recently these two met and the video of their encounter seems to have caught the attention of quite a few Twitter users in Japan.
In the video below, which was tweeted out on September 6, you can see Chii-tan☆ on Kamiya’s face frantically pawing at the idol’s mouth. It’s almost like she’s digging for clams in the sand, except the sand is Kamiya’s mouth and the clams are her teeth. Because of this the text in the tweet calls Chii-tan☆ an “otter dentist.”

To date the video has gotten over 10,000 likes and plenty of comments by Twitter users expressing their amusement at how rough X is being with Kamiya.
Currently, Chii-tan☆ is starring in her own show on Chiba Television. The show is called Kawauso Chiitan ga iku honto no nihon, which roughly translates to Chii-tan☆ the Otter Goes to the Real Japan. In the show Chii-tan☆, who is voiced by Moa Tsukino (Twitter), another member of the idol group Kamen Joshi, introduces various aspects of Japanese society and culture.
