A 28-year-old man in Kameoka City, Kyoto Prefecture, was arrested on Saturday (Jul. 1) after he allegedly injured one of his acquaintances by shooting a compressed air gun into the man’s anus.

According to Kyoto Prefectural Police, the suspect, who ran his own automobile related business, held a barbecue on the evening of June 30 that ran until the early morning of July 1 at his place of business in Kameoka City with seven to eight of his regular customers, all of which were male. At about 12:30 a.m. on July 1, the suspect assaulted one of these guests, a 22-year-old male university student from the city of Kyoto, by placing the nozzle of a type of compressed air gun called an “airduster gun” against the seat of the man’s pants and shooting compressed air into his anus.

The suspect’s actions is thought to have caused numerous tears in the victim’s rectum, which resulted in the victim complaining of pain in his abdomen and vomiting before being taken to the hospital.

Police arrested the suspect on charges of assault. The suspect has admitted to the charges, telling police “It was a prank.”
