What the hell was he doing in the shower? No… it’s best not to know.
A male elementary school teacher in Kyoto with an alleged affinity for male underwear has been arrested in Kyoto after he was caught trespassing in the shower of a locker room at a university in Kyoto.
According to Kyoto police, during the last week of May there were multiple occurrences of men’s underwear going missing in the changing room being used by the male handball team at Bukkyo University in Kyoto’s Kita Ward. Determined to get to the bottom of their disappearing underpants, the handball team set up a security camera in the changing room.
On the evening of June 1, the students once again found that underwear had gone missing. They then reviewed the footage and found that the camera had captured images of a man rummaging around the changing room.
Immediately after reviewing the footage the students discovered the suspect, a 34-year-old elementary school teacher at Kanko Elementary School named Takashi Sawamura, taking a shower in their changing room. Several students then proceeded to restrain the presumably naked, wet, and slippery Sawamura.
Sawamura has been arrested and reportedly explained his actions by telling police, “I had an interest in men’s underwear.”
No word yet on where all the missing underwear went. However, it seems likely that the suspect was not stealing them to wear them.
