Something’s a little off about these Piplups.
Piplup is a water-type penguin-like Pokemon that made its debut as a starter in the Generation IV series of games. Called Pocchama in Japanese, Piplup is cute, blue, prideful, and not particularly known for its dance abilities. That is, until now.
The video below was tweeted out on April 22 by Twitter user @P_O_C_H_A. It features an army of strange-looking, Piplup-headed muscular men with white nipples performing the “Bubbly Dance,” a.k.a. the dance routine that made the girls of Tomioka High School Dance Club in Sakai, Osaka a viral sensation last year. Check it out below if you’re ready to never look at Piplup in the same way ever again.

Thanks to its bizarre and addictive nature – the song, “Dancing Hero” is just so damn catchy – this video has, in almost no time at all, managed to get over 120,000 retweets and close to 240,000 likes.
This is not the first time that @P_O_C_H_A produced one of thse dancing Piplup videos, though. In fact, his Twitter feed and YouTube channel are filled with them, all produced using the same kind of software often used to make music videos for so-called “virtual pop idols” like Hatsune Miku.
For example, here we have a legion of Piplups doing that classic ’90s song “Everybody (Backstreet’s Bakc) by the Backstreet Boys.

Here’s a particularly cute one with Pipulup performing “Kiramekirari” from the iDOLM@STER games.
And here’s the Piplup dancers performing the viral classic “Gangnam Style.”
And last but not least, here’s PPAP Piplup style.
