The cutest way to help combat the spread of COVID19

Just like in other countries, the COVID19 pandemic has had a huge negative impact on businesses in Japan. Almost overnight many companies were left unable to operate due to restrictions and fears of spreading the virus. For one such company in Japan this resulted in the creation of an adorable mascot character named Koronon (Coronon).

Koronon is a Japanese mascot character created with the intention of helping fight the spread of the coronavirus. Find out more about Koronon via the JapanKyo Docs video below.

Note: Koronon can also be written as Coronon since the “koro” in Koronon comes from “coronavirus.” That being said, the more common way to write this character’s name in English appears to be Koronon.
