Pee doesn’t do that…
Romance can be hard. This is especially true when you fall for someone who isn’t interested in you. Sure, you can do your best to have the target of your affection notice you but there are limits to what you can do. Cross the line and you might end up in handcuffs like in the case of a deeply misguided man in Nara Prefecture who was arrested on Tuesday (7/23).
The individual in this case is being identified as a 46-year-old nursing care worker named Takafumi Doi. It is suspected that on at least one occasion between January 25 and May 17 of this year, Doi illicitly entered the Nara City residence of a 44-year-old female co-worker and mixed his own urine into two bottles of the woman’s keshōsui, a type of face lotion that is widely-used in Japan.
Doi was arrested on Tuesday under suspicion of breaking-and-entering and property damage. He is also facing charges for a prior case in which he was arrested for breaking-and-entering.
Doi has admitted to the allegations. Police have quoted Doi as saying “I tried to convince myself that the victim belonged to me by having her put something that came from me onto her body.”
Police say Doi had developed romantic feelings for his female co-worker and used a copy of her house key that he had somehow been able to produce in order to gain entry into her residence. Doi has reportedly admitted to entering the victim’s residence “tens of times” but it is unclear if he mixed his urine into her face lotion on every occasion.
Sadly, this is hardly the first case of a man in Japan using profoundly unpleasant strategies in an effort to woo someone he is interested in romantically. In fact, in April of last year Japankyo reported on an incident in which a 27-year-old man tried to win the heart of a 19-year-old female college student by leaving pornographic magazines in the basket of her bicycle.
Needless to say, there are far better strategies for winning the affection of someone than either of the ones mentioned in this article.
