Those suits may not be aerodynamic but at least they keep you warm…

Japanese mascot characters are pretty amazing. Despite their strangely proportioned and cumbersome bodies, they seem to be capable of pretty much anything (except passing through doors). Just on Japankyo alone we’ve seen mascots that can score goals on entire soccer teams, play the drums like nobody’s business, and travel through space in search of wealthy men. Well, now you can add another accomplishment to that list: skiing.

Need proof? Then you’re going to want to check out a video put out last month by a Nagano committee that is in charge of promoting the prefecture’s ski resorts. In the video you’ll see a whole team of wacky Japanese mascots zooming down the slopes at the Karuizawa Prince Hotel Ski Resort in Nagano.

The video features appearances by a total of nine mascots, all from ski resorts, towns and cities in the Nagano area. Led by Arukuma, a green bear who is always cold and loves wearing silly hats, six of these mascots can be seen showing off what the title of this video calls “cute and god-like” skiing skills.

Check out the video below.
