The beauty of acoustic anison.

Harudori is a talented Japanese singer/songwriter/guitarist from Yamaguchi Prefecture. Born in 1984, Harudori took up playing the guitar while in junior high due to his love of the Japanese band Mr. Children and ever since then he’s been creating and performing music. That’s basically the kind of information that his official website will tell you. However, if you look at his YouTube channel you find out another interesting detail about him: Harudori appears to be a major fan of anime and anime music.

Using his considerable talents on the acoustic guitar Harudori has taken it upon himself to cover some of his favorite anison (anime songs). This includes opening themes for both hugely popular series and some lesser known ones. Regardless of the song, though, Harudori always does a great job. So let’s take a look at some of his acoustic guitar anison covers.

First up we have a series of Attack on Titan covers. The first of these is of the series’ first opening: “Guren no Yumiya.” Harudori’s take on this popular theme is something much more mellow than the epic and intense original.

Continuing with the Attack on Titan series, here we have an acoustic guitar cover of the series’ second opening: “Jiyuu no Tsubasa.” This version feels like something you might hear a guitarist in Spain play in a tavern.

And here is Harudori’s cover of the fourth Attack on Titan opening theme: “Red Swan.”

Harudori isn’t just into Attack on Titan, though. He also seems to enjoy many other series, including My Hero Academia because here’s his acoustic interpretation of “Make My Story” from the show’s third season.

Here’s Harudori’s cover of “Fatima” by Kanako Ita, which is the theme for Steins;Gate 0.

Here’s a cover of the opening to the anime adaptation of the horror manga Happy Sugar Life.

And finally, here’s an acoustic guitar version of “Dancing,” which is the first opening theme to the cycling anime Yowamushi Pedal.
