This much natto must be quite… odorous |
Natto is a traditional Japanese food made from fermented soybeans that is known for many things, including its excellent nutritional value, its sticky, slimy texture and its powerful smell. One thing that isn’t known for is its ability to play video games. However, it seems like that no longer is the case thanks to Nebaaru-kun.
Nebaaru-kun, whose name is derived from the Japanese word nebaru (to be sticky), is Ibaraki Prefecture’s natto themed unofficial mascot character and he appears in a humorous new Let’s play video for the just released game, Resident Evil 7 or, as it is known in Japan Biohazard 7.
“Why do I have to go first? You go first! Why? Don’t tell me to go first!” |
The video was released earlier this month by Capcom in order to promote the release of the l1th installment in the massively popular Resident Evil series, Resident Evil 7: Biohazard.
“Oh no! I’m going to get killed! If I’m going to get killed then I’LL KILL YOU!” |
In the video, Nebaaru-kun can be seen growing increasingly scared as he progresses through the game. Eventually, he becomes so upset that he… perhaps it’s best if you watch the video and find out for yourself.
If you’d like to see more Nebaaru-kun you can visit his official YouTube channel here. Or, you can check out the video below, which is Nebaaru-kun’s cover of Pikotaro’s viral hit, PPAP. Nebaaru-kun’s version is called PWNP (Pen-Wara natto-Natto-Pen).
