Always stay behind the yellow line |
On April 27 at about 7:25 in the evening at Jinbocho Station on Tokyo’s Toei Shinjuku Line, a man in his 40s came close to falling off the train platform while a train was passing by. This resulted in the man making contact with the train and getting launched 10 meters (33 ft) into two men who were also on the train platform.
According to Tokyo Metropolitan Police and the Tokyo Fire Department, the glass protecting the conductor’s compartment at the front of the train was seriously damaged.
The man who made contact with the train, sustained serious injuries to his head and chest and was taken to the hospital. The injuries are said not to be life-threatening.
The two mean, one in his 20s and one in his 30s, who the man collided with were also taken to the hospital, however, they only suffered minor injuries.
This incident resulted in a temporary shut down of the Toei Shinjuku Line, which affected approximately 32,000 people.
