Time to eat some meat.
The cat-eared idol group Wasuta (a.k.a. The World Standard) is back with an appetizing new music video for a love song that will make you want to stuff yourself full of yakiniku (Japan’s take on Korean barbecue).
Set to release on October 31 as part of the group’s upcoming new mini-album, GIRLS,BE AMBITIOUS!, the new song is called “Galbi (Girls, Be) Ambitious!” in English and “Daishi o Idake! galbiambitious! in Japanese. This unique title mashes together two things you normally would not expect to see associated with each other: galbi, which is a standard cut of meat synonymous with Korean barbecue, and the famous quote “Boys, be ambitious,” which, as the story goes, was uttered by the 19th century American professor William S. Clark as he was leaving Sapporo after helping form what would eventually become Hokkaido University.
The song’s music video was released on Friday (Sept. 28). The video shows the cat girl idols dancing and doing their best to improve their meat grilling skills in the cutest way possible.
