Yes, it’s true. Japankyo.com will be launching its first ever podcast. This is something that has been in the works for many months but it’s finally almost here. Before episode 1 drops on November 1, though, check out Episode 0 to get a better idea of what Japan Station is all about.

What is Japan Station?

Every episode someone stops by Japan Station to talk about their connections to and interest in the fascinating place that is Japan. Host Tony Vega and his (usually much smarter and more interesting) guests talk about things like Japanese pop culture, history, anime, manga, movies, music, video games, comedy, the impact of Japanese culture around the world, underground social movements, social issues in Japan, and much more. Episodes are released on the first of every month with bonus episodes occasionally being released on the 15th.

Guests

Episode 1: Aaron McCann and Dominic Pearce, creators of the mockumentary Top Knot Detective
Episode 2: Owarai comedian Ann Lethin
Episode 3: Writer, scholar, and author of Anime: A History, Jonathan Clements
And many more!

Music

The opening/closing song of Japan Station was very kindly provided by the amazing Yunomi. The song is called “Oedo Controller” and you can listen to the full version of the song, as well as, watch the music video for it below. Also, if you’d like to listen to even more of Yunomi’s great music, check out his SoundCloud page here.

That’s it for now but there will be a lot more updates very soon. Make sure to subscribe and follow Japankyo on Facebook (@Japankyo) and Twitter (@JapankyoNews), so you don’t miss any Japan Station episodes.

See you on November 1!
