Just in time for Valentine’s Day, a new “love shrine” has opened up in the city of Osaka. However, this shrine isn’t made of wood like a typical shrine, it’s made of cookies and chocolate.

The new “sweets shrine” is located in Namba Walk, an underground shopping complex in Osaka. Its design was based on Jishu Shrine (地主神社), a famous Kyoto shrine dedicated to love and matchmaking.

It took a team of 36 student pastry chefs three days to complete this edible shrine. The chefs used approximately 20 kg of chocolate and 3400 cookies in order to construct the shrine and its Toti’i gate.

This delicious shrine will be on display until February 14th. After that people looking for love will have to go back to praying at a boring old inedible shrine.
