Last year a unique hotel run only by robots made news after it opened its first
location in Nagasaki Prefecture and now the hotel is making headlines again after
it announced that it will be opening a second location in Chiba Prefecture in
2017.

As of March 15th, 2017 people visiting the city of Maihama in Chiba Prefecture
will have the opportunity to be waited upon by robots during their stay at Henn-na
Hotel’s newest location. The hotel, whose name literally means “Weird Hotel,” opened
its first location in July of 2015 in the city of Sasebo in Nagasaki Prefecture
on the grounds of the Huis Ten Bosch amusement park. The hotel gained
significant attention around the world for being the world’s first robot
staffed hotel. Guests that enter Henn-na Hotel can expect to be greeted by robot check-in
clerks. They can also look forward to a robot concierge, porter and an in-room
robot assistant, plus many other unique features. A video showcasing some of Henn-na Hotel’s robots can be seen below.
