I have a hand. I have a soap. UH! Wash, wash, wash, wash, wash, wash, wash, wash, wash, wash…
With the global coronavirus pandemic going on it is more important than ever to frequently and thoroughly wash your hands. It’s recommended that you should carefully wash your hands for at least 20 seconds using soap numerous times throughout the day. Though this may seem like a small thing, properly washing one’s hands can actually mean the difference between life and death for some. As a result many people around the world have created fun videos to both remind and teach people about hand washing. Today the viral sensation Pikotaro joined this group of individuals with the release of “PPAP 2020” to his YouTube channel.
As the title implies “PPAP 2020” is an updated version of Prikotaro’s 2016 viral video/song “PPAP (Pen-Pineapple-Apple-Pen).” Unlike the original “PPAP,” which was a nonsensical song about pens, apples, pineaples, and pen-pineapple-apple-pens, “PPAP 2020” is actually a heartfelt song that both encourages people to wash their hands properly and offers a bit of reassurament that the world will make it through the COVID-19 pandemic. This positive message can be found within the title itself since in this version PPAP stands for “Pray for People and Peace.”
Pikotaro also left a message to his fans in the description of this new video.
“From PIKOTARO to the whole world… I made this in a hurry for Smile and Safe hands! Wash it! Smile ! Protect it!“
Check out “PPAP 2020” below.
Given that “PPAP 2020” is over a minute long, it seems like a pretty good song to sing while you wash your hands! So give it a shot the next time you’re about to eat an apple or a pineapple, or after you’re done using a pen or a pen-pineapple-apple-pen.
