It’s always best to write down what you want to say before making a phone call… or you could just keep calling and hanging up until you get it right.
An unemployed man in Miyagi Prefecture was arrested on Friday (Feb. 22) for allegedly calling the office of a government employment agency 159 times and hanging up without saying anything.
According to Miyagi police, on January 31, between the hours of 2:30 and 5:00 in the afternoon, the suspect, a 41-year-old unemployed man from Higashimatsushima City, used his cell phone a total of 159 times to call and then hang up without saying a word the Ishinomaki City office of the Japanese government’s employment services provider: Hello Work.
Police were able to use phone records to trace the calls back to the suspect.
The suspect was arrested under suspicion of obstruction of business. The suspect has admitted to the allegations, reportedly explaining his actions to police by saying “I had something I wanted to say.”
It is not yet known what the “something” the suspect wanted to say was nor why exactly he couldn’t get it out even after 159 attempts.
