Feel the samurai spirit.
The fox mask wearing female music group Mahora has released a cover of one of Japanese heavy metal’s most famous and beloved songs.
Known for their use of wagakki (traditional Japanese instruments) to perform covers of popular Japanese songs, Mahora has been wowing people for the past couple of years both with their live performances and on their popular YouTube channel.
In the group’s latest video the fox girls can be heard using the shamisen, koto, and shakuhachi, to perform a version of X Japan’s “Kurenai” that seems like it would be perfect for use during the final action scene of an epic samurai film.
Check out the song below.
Mahora also regularly does covers of popular anime songs, such as “Guren no Yumiya,” which is the first opening theme to the popular Attack on Titan anime series.
And here is a cover of the smash hit Keyakizaka46 song “Silent Majority.”
