Seven male
teenagers were arrested this week for making a prank emergency call to police
in Saga Prefecture in order to lure out a patrol car and pelt it with eggs,
tofu and potatoes.

According to police in the city of Imari in Saga Prefecture, at a little
after midnight on December 21st one of the teens called the police emergency
contact number (110) with a fake complaint about noisy motorcycles. A police
officer was then dispatched in order to investigate the complaint, however, as
the patrol car was travelling along national highway number 204, the 7 teens began
to throw eggs, tofu and potatoes at it from a structure located above the
highway. The police officer in the patrol car was unharmed but the patrol car
was damaged in about 10 different places.

Police were able to obtain security camera footage which led to the arrest of
the teens. By the 24th, police had arrested all 7 teenagers, who ranged in age
from 17 to 18, on charges of property damage and obstruction of public duty.

Thankfully, no one was hurt but this story just goes to show that teens can be
pretty stupid regardless of their nationality. I bet they’re wishing they had
just cooked up those ingredients and had themselves a nice dinner instead of
throwing that stuff at a police car.
