This probably doesn’t qualify as “cool biz”
On Saturday (Jul. 8) police in Shizuoka Prefecture arrested a woman after she allegedly stripped down to her bra and panties in front of a train station because she was “hot.”
According to the Shizuoka Prefectural Police Department, on July 8, at about 1:40 p.m., the suspect, a 43-year-old unemployed woman, was standing in a plaza in front of JR Shizuoka Station in Shizuoka City, when all of a sudden she took off the pink short-sleeved polo shirt, black pants and sandals that she was wearing, ending up barefoot and in just her underwear.
A passerby witnessed the woman and went to a nearby police box to report her, which resulted in her getting arrested for public indecency.
In response to police questioning the suspect is quoted as saying “It was hot, so I took off my clothes.”
According to local weather reports, at around 1:30 p.m. on the day of the incident the temperature in Shizuoka City was 29.8 degrees Celsius (85.6 degrees Fahrenheit). No word on the humidity level though.
